Trick to buy anything on Paypal for $0.01

Labels:

Please note, the 1st time I tried this, I got it wrong ad was charged $47 as I missed out a step, so please be careful. Oh well, I suppose I could do with a new lamp lol
I found a firefox addon called Tamper Data. Download it and install it.
  1. Use Google to find sites that take Paypal as payment.
  2. Find something (not too expensive lol.)
  3. Turn on Tamper Data (can be found in tools once installed.)
  4. Click start tamper
  5. Click add to cart.
  6. This is the annoying part, everytime the site tries to store something, Tamper Data pops up and asks what you want to do, being very careful, glance down and look for the price of the item, if its not there, then click ok. If it is, then select the price and change it to what you want (I decided to change it to 1% (Item was $123, I changed it to $1.23) All will become apparant very soon. Then click ok.
  7. Once Paypal has loaded, turn Tamper Data off by clicking stop tamper
  8. Notice Paypal now charges you whatever price you entered earlier
If you get to the Paypal confirm payment page, then you have gone too far, just go back to the beginning and try again.
So why didnt I enter $0.01? Simple, the site gets an email to say so-and-so has bought the item. If its a busy site, they may just click ok and send it (a few do – I heard Ninja Remote doesnt check order prices) Who would think to check the order price? Human nature is to speed things up so look at item then pack it as Paypal states its been paid for, and Paypal cant be wrong……can it?
If, on the off chance, that the operator scans the receipt, then he/she will probably notice $0.01 as payment amount. This is why I chose 1%, at a quick glance, the operator will see that the item cost $123 when really it cost $1.23
