The first among all the AdSense tricks is to follow strictly the rules mentioned in Adsense Program Policies. By playing a clean game with Google, you will always earn more and win.
A poor quality content website will give you high CTR, but you will be getting low priced ads and nobody will like to add your URL to their favorites.
Vice-versa, a good quality content will stick visitors to your site and even though you may get lower CTR, you will be getting high priced ads and regular visitors, too.
No matter how much money you may make with AdSense right now, just apply the AdSense tricks described on this page and you will considerably increase that amount.
● When adding Adsense ads to your web site, they shouldn’t look like ads. Blend the ads in as a part of your web page. People are often oblivious and even negative to advertising. They do not search the internet for ads, but for information and content.
● Color your ads to match exactly your web site palette.
When choosing the ad heading colors, match them to the exact color of your page headings. Use the exact same ad text font and color as the text on your pages. Use the exact same ad background shade as your page background.
Remeber that the colors must be identical. Do not try to make a shade of a color. It must be the same. Perhaps, this is one of the best AdSense tricks.
● Change all of your page hyperlinks to a high contrast color then change the adsense title to the same color.
● Image ads are not so good as text ads. People are more responsive to text than images. Simply, text is more clickable than images.
● Do not use leaderboard image ads or the traditional horizontal banner style because people ignore them. Especially banners – they have a less of 0.5% response. Their days are gone.
Banners like 468×80 have been on the Internet since it’s creation. Even people who do not use the Internet very much are kind of blind to these standard banners.
Skyscrapers or boxed ads have a much higher click rate. The Adsense team even published a list of their highest performing ad sizes:
336×280 large rectangle
300×250 inline rectangle
160×600 wide skyscraper
● Use Google’s 4 and 5 link ad units wherever possible. They seem to have a much higher Click Through Rate (CTR) than regular ad styles.
● Don’t use border ads. Erase the borders of the ads and make them again, with the same color of your site’s background. You can use the color palettes to choose the right colors in Adsense set-up. It is a must among the AdSense tricks.
● Even with the best Ads, people will not respond if they don’t see them instantly. So, the right placement of your Ads is very important.
The best place to see the ad is the top of your web page (specially for short articles) and the next is aside your document’s text. For long articles, CTR improves if ads are placed somewhere in middle of the content – visitors will read the long content and then they wil look for more resources.
You can use Google’s own AdSense optimization tips and visual heat map to assist you in deciding where on your page to place your AdSense ad code.
And some more AdSense tricks:
● Always put ads above the main fold. Make sure that the ad unit with the highest clickthrough rate is the first instance of the ad code that appears in the HTML.
● Incorporate the AdSense code into your page so that the ads look like a regular part of your site. Visitors will click it more frequently since it will look like your text.
● The first few lines of your content are important – they determine what ads are served on your page. That’s the right place to put keywords in bold.
● Blend Adlinks with other navigation links or place horizontal Adlinks at the top of your webpage.
● Research competitive keywords using a keyword research tool. You can use www.keyworddiscovery.com, or take a list of the most popular keywords from various sources and then use them in your website pages (but don’t waste your money on high-paying adsense keywords lists).
The more popular the keyword, the higher AdWords advertisers are generally willing to pay per click for it, so the higher your commission.
● Get rid of low paying advertisers from your site. These are the “made for adsense” sites. You’ ve probably seen their ads – We Have Found The Best Twenty Sites For….. For an extremely low click price (maybe only a few cents) they entice your visitors from your site to their MFA (made for adsense) site, where they can offer them higher priced ads.
They are parasites, like roundworms. They live off your hard work, but pay you virtually nothing for it. Google allows you to filter out and block specific URLs. Get rid of them!
You can find the lowpaying advertisers for your particular keywords on www.adsblacklist.com.
● You can definitely make money with one web site but try to make as more as possible. You will earn more. Link them together.
● Articles are one of the best tactics to create huge websites that will be crawled by search engine’s robots. Remeber that search engines exist to provide relevant content at first.
● Use only Relevant ads. It’s one of the most important factors for Adsense success and a gem among AdSense tricks. If the user is unable to find a relevant ad in your page, they won’t click the ad. So, it’s critical to create relevant resources for your web page.
● Use the full allowance of multiple AdSense ads on each of your pages. For example: 3 regular AdSense ads plus 1 link unit, or 3 regular AdSense ads plus 1 AdSense referral button. They must blend into your site well and must not distract from your content.
Similar to standard search results the highest paying ad units will be served first and the lowest being served last. Just follow these AdSense tricks and wait for the result.
However, you should pay attention to the payouts. Current assumption is you get 60% of the revenue. So if a click from the third ad unit is only paying between 3 to 5 cents you can carelessly omit it from your page.
● A page that is tailored towards a specific theme is more likely to trigger AdWords ads that closely match the content. Visitors will be more willing to click on them.
● Do not create pages merely for the sake of placing AdSense ads. You will never make money out of these “made-for-adsense” websites. And worse, this is a bad trick and will be quickly noticed by search engines and visitors, too. Instead, write on topics what you are passionate about.
● When working on a new site, give each location it’s own channel for a little while until you understand the users behavior.
● Use channels to determine performance of individual pages. You can track your pages with www.google.com/analytics and create a channel for each of the URL. Some ad formats and positioning will work better than others, but you won’t know which until you test, test and test some more!
● This is valid for forums, especially the ones with a high volume of regular members. They develop pretty soon an ad blindness. You must randomize the color and even the placement of the ads in order to be “visible”.
Try to place the ads directly above or below the first forum thread.
● Blend ads with images. It makes them seen as part of the pages and does help in attracting user attention. It doesn’t matter what images you use.
Set up the adsense code in a table with four images that line up directly with the ads. Whether or not this is deceptive is very subjective. Placing pictures of 4 cars over car ads is not against the rules, but still use your judgment and look at it through Google’s eyes.
Be carefull not to write text, point arrows or similar on the images – AdSense will treat them as click incentives. If you are in doubt write to AdSense and ask them to take a look.
● Set the Google Adsense search box results in a new browser window, so you won’t lose your visitors. Most visitors expect the search box on the top right corner. So, put it there.
● For low CTR pages, add more content and/or change titles to get better focused ads.
● Use Filters to block low paying advertisers. You certainly do not want to lose a visitor for 0.01 cents. To discover keywords that are less popular use Overture or Google Adwords Keywords tool.
● The AdSense for search Top Queries report shows you what your users are looking for, by listing the 25 most common searches conducted through your AdSense for search boxes. Use this report to identify additional topics to add to your site, or to keep track of your most sought-after information. Focus and improve that content.
● Use RSS to Email services like Bloglet, FeedBlitz or Rmail to let users subscribe to your blog by email.
● Ask your friends to navigate your website for a while and then ask them which parts of your website caught more attention. Then put the ads close to those areas.
This can be the most funniest among the AdSense tricks, but some fun is always OK, right?
● Make the use of link exchange directories. Don’t use link farms, because search engines are extremely clever and they will ban your listings.
● Experiment till you are satisfied with the CTR.
